FIRST COAST TECHNICAL INSTITUTE PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM
The Practical Nursing program is accredited by the Florida State Board of Nursing and the Council on Occupational Education. Upon completion of this 1350-hour program, the student is eligible to sit for the State Board of Nursing Exam.
The Practical Nursing Program course curriculum includes theoretical instruction and clinical experience in medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, and geriatric nursing. Theoretical instruction along with clinical experience in both acute and long-term care of nursing home patients and home-bound patients are part of this intensive program. The student will also receive instruction and clinical application in personal, family and community health concepts; nutrition; human growth and development over the life span; body structure and function; interpersonal relationship skills; mental health concepts; pharmacology and administration of medications; legal aspects of practice and current issues in nursing; and, blood borne pathogens.
Upon completion of this 1350-hour program, the student is eligible to sit for the Florida State Board of Nursing exam. This course is accredited by the Florida State Board of Nursing and the Council on Occupational Education.

Class start dates: November & June (day class)
Class days: Monday thru Thursday
Class hours – First 6 weeks: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Class hours – After 6 weeks: Mon & Tue 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Wed & Thur 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Evening Program

Class days: 3-nights weekly and
